Skills To Learn In 2023

Before we start, I wish you all a very Happy New Year! May this year bring your success in achieving your professional goals and resolutions. Here’s to a productive and prosperous year ahead! 

Let’s start 2023 with a new blog post and a video! 

While I was researching fun and engaging content ideas, it soon became clear that we need to focus on the most innovative and groundbreaking technology available to support marketers and businesses this year. 

And that technology is…Artificial Intelligence (AI) 

AI is going to change the way we do work from now on.  It has the potential to revolutionize the way we live and work, bringing in new opportunities as it continues to advance. Businesses around the world are already leveraging the power of AI to streamline processes, increase efficiency and drive growth with personalized marketing campaigns. And we want everyone to be ready! 

To demonstrate how you can use AI at work as a marketer, we will use Klaviyo AI technology and enhance it with the latest craze: ChatGPT. 

If you haven’t heard about it yet, check out what this can do! Your mind will be blown.  

How To Begin: 

Let’s begin with Klaviyo. 

Login into our Klaviyo account and go into one of our email flows. We will edit the email subject lines using Subject Line Assistant, and Klaviyo AI technology, one of their latest new releases.

In this example, we are editing the subject line for the Welcome flow to provide a better direction for the specific content. Providing more information and details to an AI service can help to improve its performance and accuracy. 

Here are the next steps you need to take to successfully and most effectively get the results you want: 

  1. Select flow type. This will ensure that the generated subject lines are relevant. 
  2. Enter the brand name. 
  3. Provide a short description of the brand or the email content. Make sure to keep it short, and personal and provide any important information the customers may need. 
  4. Click ‘Generate’ and watch the magic happen. 
  5. You will see three generated subject lines, and the option to generate more if you are not satisfied with the ones available. 

As you can see in my example, I have just generated several ideas for my Welcome Flow content email subject line. If you’re already using Klaviyo, using their AI tool to help generate subject and preview lines will come naturally. Test this process when creating new flows, and test them against your own subject lines to see which ones perform better. 

Comparing Klaviyo AI to ChatGPT: 

Now, let’s compare Klaviyo’s subject lines with what ChatGPT will create for us.

In order to do this, we need a free account on ChatGPT. After logging in, you will see a search box at the bottom of the screen, where you can enter a descriptive phrase or a question. 

Now sit back, and let the magic happen…

I can keep pressing “Regenerate Response” to get more results and look for those which satisfy me the most. You can also add as many or as few details as you want, and give it parameters to use too. For example, if you wanted to mention a specific promotion or a word you can include that in the description. 

Now it’s time to test them! 


Since it is so easy to come up with unlimited versions of subject lines, this is also an excellent opportunity to set up some extra A/B tests to get your winning subject and preview lines.
